The inaugural Big Queer Weekend has concluded — thank you to everyone who joined us at Galaxy Theatres, Drinks Backyard and Hotel Indigo. This page remains online as a record of the 2026 ticket and pass offerings; no further tickets are available.
Weekend Film Pass

Weekend Film Passes sold out before the inaugural weekend. Individual film tickets were available for every screening except Closing Night: WICKET with AIDEN & DEAN DON'T FALL IN LOVE.
- One ticket to each of the six film programs
- Includes admission to Sunday's networking brunch and breakfast taco buffet — beverages not included
- Welcome to join both red carpet receptions and Saturday evening's showcase
- Food and beverage are not included with the pass
- Reserve individual tickets for the screenings you plan to attend — instructions are emailed after purchase
- No extra ticket needed for Sunday's brunch; box office volunteers confirm your pass at check-in

Big Queer Creatives Brunch (and Pool Party!)

Sunday, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on the pool deck at Hotel Indigo downtown. Suggested donation of $10 — a minimum $1.00 donation (plus fees) was requested to RSVP through Eventbrite. Donations benefit aGLIFF, Austin's LGBTQ+ Film Festival and helped defray the cost of the entire weekend of events. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Help aGLIFF Reach 40 — And Unlock $10,000 in Arts Funding
For nearly four decades, aGLIFF has created a place in Austin for LGBTQ+ stories to be seen, celebrated and shared. As Austin’s longest-running film festival prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2027, we need your help carrying that legacy forward.
aGLIFF has secured another year of support from the Texas Commission on the Arts, but that funding comes with an important requirement: we must raise $10,000 in matching funds from our community.
Your gift helps unlock critical grant funding that allows aGLIFF to bring independent queer films and filmmakers to Austin, elevate voices too often left out of mainstream storytelling, and create spaces like The Big Queer Weekend where artists and audiences can find one another.

The Big Queer Creatives Networking Brunch
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on the pool deck at Hotel Indigo Downtown Austin. Breakfast taco buffet, Deep Eddy signature cocktails, Fara Coffee and a complimentary pool pass for the day.

What a film ticket included
Each $20 general admission ticket covered one film program of the holder's choice — including the accompanying short film and the post-screening Q&A or community conversation. Individual tickets were selected for a specific film and were not transferable to other films.
A sold-out first year
Weekend Film Passes sold out before the inaugural weekend, as did Closing Night: WICKET with AIDEN & DEAN DON'T FALL IN LOVE. Thank you to everyone who joined us — and to everyone on the standby lines who stayed hopeful.
Sunday's networking brunch
The Queer Creatives Networking Brunch on the Hotel Indigo pool deck worked on a suggested donation of $10. Donations benefited aGLIFF, Austin's LGBTQ+ Film Festival and helped defray the cost of the entire weekend of events — your generosity was greatly appreciated. The bar was open for mimosas, cocktails and other beverages, and RSVPs doubled as a guest pass for the day at the pool.
Seating, arrival & standby
All seating was general admission at every event, so pass holders and ticket buyers could sit together with friends and guests. We recommended arriving at Galaxy Theatres at least 20 minutes before the program started, and unused seats were released to standby guests in the event of a sell out.
Red carpet receptions
Thursday's 6:00 PM and Sunday's 5:00 PM red carpet receptions in the Galaxy Theatres lobby were open to that evening's ticket holders and weekend pass holders. Beer, wine and other options were available for purchase at concessions.
Saturday night was free
The Pride In Local Music showcase and Queer artist & artisan marketplace at Drinks Backyard were free and open to the public. This event was ASL accessible — Amber G Productions provided ASL interpreters.
